Description
SECA conducts a monthly statistics report which tracks the aggregate dollar value of coatings sold by its members for the following application segments: cutting tools, forming tools, molding tools, precision components, and decorative. Each application segment is reported by the following coating chemistries:
CVD: TiC, TiN, TiC/TiN, A1203 , Carbon Based, All Others
PVD: TiN, ZrN, Cr Based, TiCN, TiALN, Carbon Based, All Others
Procedure
Each member submits their data on a monthly basis, using a preprinted reporting form (see the back of this page for a sample). The data is submitted by the 15th of the following month. An independent CPA firm receives and compiles the data on a completely confidential basis. The end result is a composite report which provides total Association sales for each coating category by each of the five application segments. The report is then distributed by mail to all members.
Value of this Data
The summary report allows each member to calculate their market share for each category, The report allows tracking of trends in coating and application growth or decline to aid in business decisions.
