Question: How does SECA differ from the other major organizations in the vacuum coating industry?
Answer: The AVS (former American Vacuum Society) and the SVC (Society of Vacuum Coaters) are both well-known established societies that focus on technical education through seminars, conferences, and publications, while SECA focuses more on the commercial aspects of the coatings industry. SECA's main focus is on the generation of marketing statistics and the education and promotion of coatings to potential end users.
Question: What does my company receive as a member?
Answer: SECA provides a broad range of education, information, marketing and networking opportunities through:
- Monthly Newsletter
- Quarterly Statistics
- Member Website
- Spring and Fall Meeting
- Government Affairs Updates
Question: What is the membership cost?
Answer: The annual membership dues, invoiced December 15th, are based on total CVD & PVD sales of the previous year. There are five major dues categories based on ranges of total sales per the attached proforma invoice. The membership represents a great value for the marketing information obtained plus additional activities.
